NRA Instructor Prerequistites: You must have completed a (BIT) NRA Basic Instructor Training in the previous 2 years. You must have taken the class you are wanting to become certified in as a student. EXAMPLE: To become an NRA Pistol Instructor, you must have taken the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting class as a student. 

Please remember, Instructor Courses are performance-based courses.  Instructor candidates must possess the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for this level of training.  You are not paying to automatically pass and become an Instructor.  You are given the opportunity to pass and become an Certified Instructor.   

  • PPIH - Must be already be a NRA Pistol Instructor
  • PPOH - Must already be a NRA PPIH Instructor
  • CCW - Must already be an NRA Pistol Instructor
  • CRSO - Must already be an NRA RSO

Age Requirements

  • Certified Instructor at least 21 years of age
  • Assistant Instructor 18 to 21 years of age
  • Apprentice Instructor 13-17 years of age 
  • 13  to 17 Years of age will only pay 1/2 price for Instructor Classes

USCCA Instructor - Concealed Carry & Home Defense

 Upon successfully completing this course, you will become USCCA Certified Instructor, uniquely authorized to teach the USCCA course, Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals. This course has become the gold standard across the United States for law abiding Americans seeking to obtain their concealed carry permit. As a USCCA certified instructor, you will be trained and equipped to provide world-class instruction to students. You will have access to our world class classroom materials (including a full set of PowerPoint presentations and classroom videos). During this two-day training course, you’ll be taught by a USCCA Training Counselor on a number of valuable topics, including: The top ten instructor mistakes, and how to avoid them; teaching best practices; and running a safe live fire range. You’ll also have a chance to demonstrate your knowledge of the USCCA training material through seven short presentations to a group of your fellow Instructor Candidates, as well as running a live fire range, and guiding your peers through the  completion USCCA course of fire. After completion of this course, you’ll not only be intimately familiar with the USCCA training methodology and materials, you’ll be a far better instructor and presenter. 

Prior to attending the 2-day class, you must complete the corresponding eLearning.

NRA Instructor Courses require at least 4 Instructor Candidates in the class & USCCA Instructor Courses require at least 2 Instructor Candidates in the class.
